Guide and details
How it works
- Type your text.
- Choose the font, the size and the thickness, and whether a base plate should be added.
- Check the preview. It updates when you change something.
- Choose the format and download the model.
How the letters are made
The outlines of the letters come from font files that are part of this site. They are loaded only when you choose them, and no font is loaded from anywhere else. The outlines are extruded to the thickness you choose, optionally with rounded edges, and placed on a plate.
The model is built in millimetres with z up, as printing programs expect.
Characters and limits
The fonts contain Latin letters, digits and common punctuation for German, English, Spanish and French. Characters that are not in the font are named and left out instead of being drawn wrongly.
Up to 200 characters; several lines are made with line breaks.
Frequently asked questions
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The letters are built in your browser.
Which fonts are available?
Inter, Source Serif 4 and JetBrains Mono, all with an open font license. They belong to this site.
Why is a character missing?
It is not in the font. The page lists such characters.
Can I print it directly?
The model is meant for printing: with a base plate the letters stand on a solid plate. Check it in your printing program as usual.
