Hosting and access data
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Each time a page or file is requested, your browser sends technically necessary data to Vercel’s servers, in particular your IP address, date and time, the requested address and information about your browser and operating system. According to Vercel, it also processes log files and an approximate location derived from the IP address.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable delivery of the website.
Providing this data is required neither by law nor by contract. Without it, however, your browser cannot load the website.
According to Vercel, it acts as a processor for its customers’ data. The data may be processed in the USA. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so the transfer is based on the adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR).
How long Vercel stores this access data is determined by Vercel. We do not evaluate it for analytics or advertising. More information is available in Vercel’s privacy policy.
Processing of your files in the browser
The tools load their program code (JavaScript, WebAssembly, and fonts and decoders for displaying PDF pages and 3D models) from our website. The actual processing then takes place on your device, for 3D files including reading and previewing the model. File contents, file names and results are not transmitted. Results are created in your browser’s memory and are only saved when you download them yourself.
We do not store your files and have no access to them. That is also why there is no user account.
Settings in your browser
If you explicitly set the colour scheme to light or dark, your browser saves this choice in local storage (localStorage, entry “theme”). If you choose a language in the language selection, it saves this choice (entry “lang”) so that the homepage shows you this language on your next visit. Nothing is saved without your choice. The entries stay on your device and are not sent to us.
The homepage at anyconvertor.com also reads your browser’s language setting to take you to the matching language version. This happens only in your browser. No location is determined.
The legal basis for saving these entries is § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act), because they are strictly necessary for the function you explicitly chose. You can delete the entries at any time in your browser settings. For the colour scheme it is also enough to choose “Automatic” again.
Contact by email
If you write to us by email, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message in order to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the data as soon as it is no longer needed for handling your request and no statutory retention obligations apply. Providing your data is voluntary; without a reply address, however, we cannot answer you.
For the email address given we use Google’s Gmail service. Your message is therefore also processed on Google’s servers, possibly in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. More information is available in Google’s privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Please contact the email address given above.
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
Encrypted transmission
The website is delivered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
