Guide and details

How it works
  1. Choose a PDF file or drag it onto the field above. The page count and small previews appear.
  2. Enter the pages you want, for example 1,3-5, or tap the previews. Pages are saved in the order you enter them.
  3. Select “Extract pages”.
  4. Check the page count of the result and select “Download PDF”.
Choosing pages

Page numbers count from 1, in the order the pages appear in the file. This can differ from the page numbers printed on the pages, for example when a document starts with a cover. A range such as 3-5 means pages 3, 4 and 5. Separate entries with commas: 1,3-5 gives pages 1, 3, 4 and 5.

The order you type is the order in the new file. Entering 5,1-2 creates a PDF that starts with page 5, followed by pages 1 and 2. A page can be entered more than once. A range written backwards such as 5-3 gives pages 5, 4 and 3.

What this tool does

This tool saves the pages you choose as one new PDF. It does not cut a document into several files in one step. To get several parts, run it once for each part.

The pages keep their content, size and rotation. Bookmarks, form fields and document properties are not carried over, because the result is a new document. A digital signature is lost, as any change invalidates it. Scripts and automatic actions and attached files are removed. This reduces risk, but it is not a complete security check.

Limits and protected files

Files up to 100 MB with up to 2,000 pages can be processed, or up to 50 MB on smartphones and devices with little memory. Previews are shown for documents with up to 500 pages and up to 40 MB. Beyond that you can still type page numbers.

PDF files protected by a password or by restrictions are not processed. Remove the protection in the program that created the file, if you are allowed to. Damaged files are rejected with a message.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The file is read and processed in your browser and is never sent to AnyConvertor or to any other server.

How do I enter several pages?

Separate pages and ranges with commas, for example 1,3-5. You can also tap the page previews to select them.

Can I change the order of pages?

Yes. Pages are saved in the order you type them, so 5,1-2 starts the new PDF with page 5.

Can this tool split a PDF into several files?

Not in one step. It saves the pages you choose as a single new PDF. For several parts, run it once for each part.

Why do the page numbers differ from those printed on the pages?

The tool counts the pages in the file from 1. Printed numbers can start later, for example after a cover or a table of contents.
