Guide and details

Which format for which purpose

JPG is the classic format for photos. It compresses with losses, files stay small, and almost every program can open them. JPG does not support transparency.

PNG compresses without losses and supports transparency. It suits screenshots, logos, graphics with text and images you want to keep editing. Photos saved as PNG are much larger than as JPG.

WebP was developed for the web. It supports lossy and lossless compression as well as transparency, and it is usually smaller than JPG or PNG at similar quality. Some older programs cannot open WebP.

Images in a PDF

JPG to PDF and PNG to PDF put one or many images on PDF pages. JPG photos are copied into the PDF unchanged, and the transparency of PNG images is kept. You choose page size, margins and the order of the pages.

Converted on your device

The image tools use the image functions built into your browser. Files are not uploaded to AnyConvertor or to anyone else. Once a tool page has loaded, the conversion even works without an internet connection.

Frequently asked questions

PNG and WebP. When you convert to JPG, transparent areas are filled with a background colour you choose.
